Hall of Famer George Kell died today at the age of 86 while sleeping at his home in Swifton. The cause of dead is still unknown.
Kell was a Detroit Tigers broadcaster for 40 years after a successful 14 years career from 1943-1957 with the Philadelphia Athletics,Detroit Tigers, Boston Red Sox, Chicago White Sox and Baltimore Orioles.
The 10 time All Star finished his career with a batting average of .306, hitting more than .300 eight times, from 1946-1953.
In his first full season in the Major League, Kell batted .268. In 1946 he went to Detroit and hit .325 in 826 games.
